When Bob James established Inter Consultant in 1982, he pioneered incorporating financial planning as an integral component of personal investing. He understood, too, that insurance plays a crucial role in a complete financial planning process, and should be part of every client’s plan. As a consequence, Inter Consultant Insurance Group was founded in 1986, making it the firm’s oldest subsidiary.

Today, Inter Consultant Insurance Group not only provides insurance and annuity products, it focuses on helping advisors deliver insurance solutions that address their clients’ specific challenges.

Management

Brigman has served in several leadership capacities at Inter Consultant since joining the firm in 2008, most recently as the Inter Consultant & Associates Tampa Bay Complex Manager. Prior to that role, he was head of fiduciary services for Inter Consultant, working to ensure compliance with the Department of Labor’s previously released fiduciary rule while preserving a competitive platform for financial advisors and their clients. Brigman also led the planning and strategy division for the Private Client Group, focused on growth opportunities, corporate development engagements and other firm-aligned strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Inter Consultant, he led a team as product manager at Progressive Insurance through the independent insurance agent channel. Brigman earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Florida and his MBA from University of Virginia.
